The Count House at Bosigran is one of the most amazing venues for both walkers and climbers and with the weather set to be fair there were 14 of us heading down to Cornwall for the weekend. Situated close to the coast on the road between St Just and St Ives, the Count house provides an ideal location to access both the coastal cliff paths and the climbing on the granite cliffs of Bosigran made famous by the world war 2 commando soldiers who practised here for scaling the cliffs of France for the Allied invasion.

The good weather enabled full days of activity both days and routes climbed included Nameless, Ghost, Doorpost, Main face and Demo route.

Meanwhile the two walkers headed off to explore the old mining area between Pendeen and Sennen over the two days taking head torches for venturing into some of the cliff mines. We had a shared meal on Saturday evening followed by a trip to the pub by some to watch the Ireland v New Zealand World Cup rugby match with representatives of both nations sat next to each other in their respective strips.

The club will undoubtably book this venue again and it offers a feast of both walking and climbing opportunities with new friendships being made and new climbing partners found over the course of the weekend.
