Thank you for deciding to join the Avon Mountaineering Club. Currently membership is £21.
Membership Fees: Annual membership is £31*, however if you join after 01 Jul and before 01 Nov (see below) then the price is reduced to £21 . This goes to providing 3rd party insurance cover from the BMC and the running of the club. We send membership lists to the BMC every two months, however you are covered by the BMC’s third party insurance as soon as you have paid your membership to the Avon Mountaineering Club.
*Unemployed/Furloughed discount: from November 2020, the BMC is offering a £5 discount on their fees. If you are eligible for this discount, join the club as normal and pay the full fees and then please e-mail the Membership Secretary within two weeks. The club will then process your £5 refund.
Membership Period: Membership runs from 1st Jan to 31st Dec, i.e. it isn't 12 months from the time you join. However, if you join after 01 Nov then your membership will remain valid for the next calendar year and you will pay the full membership price rather than the reduced price.
Under 18s: We accept under-18s in the AMC, when accompanied by their parent or guardian. Please read the under-18 policy first. If you or someone you are joining is under 18, we'd prefer you to come along to one of the pub meets and chat to the membership secretary first, so you unfortunately can't sign up online.
Existing Members: This page is for new members to signup, if you are a renewing member then please go to the Members Area to renew..
We use a mailing list to message members. The email address you provide on the next page and you will be automatically added to the list.
Once you have filled out your details on the next page, you will be taken to Paypal to pay using a credit/debit card.
We don't automatically issue membership cards because not everyone needs one, but if you would like one you are welcome to collect one at a pub meet, or request one from the membership secretary once you have joined.
