Morocco Feb 2026 Trip Report
This late winter trip to the Anti-Atlas came about from the coalescence of psych off the back of an excellent weeks climbing there in November 2025 and from Matt Langley’s forum post calling for a hot rock trip in February 2026.

After a bleak 6 week period of near non-stop rain in Bristol, 9 of AMC’s finest adventurers and slab crack climbing legends assembled at Bristol Airport at the ungodly hour of 4am ready to fly to Agadir.

Upon arrival, and after some minor car hire faff, we split into three vehicles had headed 3hrs south to Ksar Rock Guesthouse ready for a week of sun soaked climbing on beautiful red quartzite and some extremely sharp granite.

We spent 4 nights at Ksar Rock climbing at crags round the awe inspiring Samazar Valley as well as Adrar Iffran, Greek Buttress, Oxbow Walls and Ksar Rock itself.

Route highlights were Firesword E2, Grand Central E2, Schimitar Ridge VS, Black beauty E1, Eros E2 and almost every climb at Oxbow Walls - probably the best crag we visited! Not to mention Paul and Jake’s new route - Golden Guinea E1 5b - a link up between the Great Divide HVS and Roughneck E2!

The final 3 nights were spent in Tafraout where the focus shifted to getting on the local granite cracks. Everyone had a good battle on Trafalgar Crack E2/3 with Seb emerging as the sole victor getting the clean lead on his second go.

Other notable cracks were Desert Lightning E3, Casino Royal E2 and Thunderball E2.

Seb, George, Jake and Adam opted to spend their last day back on the quartzite ticking off two classic HVSs in White Tower Original and Slot Machine while myself, Andy, Paul, James and Matt opted to continue to battle up some cracks of varying size!

All in all it was an excellent trip where everyone tried hard and great way to start the 2026 trad climbing season!

Special mention must go to Tim Meehan with his ‘Klothes for Ksar’ initiative. Over the winter he collected well over 75kg of children’s clothes which we then took out with us and donated to Fatima at Ksar Rock Guest House for the local kids. Thanks for all of those who donated!

There’s already rumours of a November 2026 trip so watch this space! Until then, I’ll leave you all with some other snaps from the trip.
