Article Guidelines
Hey people, in order to make my life much easier (and hence make it quicker to add articles to the website) please could you bear the following guidelines about pictures in mind if anyone would like to write something for this section.
Essentially, please supply the text in a word document (or just as text in whatever program, even notepad) with the photos seperately as jpegs in a zip file not embedded into the text.
The photos should be jpegs, if you can resize them to be a max of 800px wide or 800px tall it would be really helpful, and if your feeling particually kind then also supply thumnails of about 200px with the name prefixed tn_ ie tn_photo1.jpg
Please don't put spaces or capitals in photo names, use names like "photo1.jpg" etc rather than "Half Way Up The Matterhorn.jpg"
In the text put the photo file name in [] quotes rather than a description of the picture.
eg
text some more text
[photo1.jpg]
yet more text
rather than:
text some more text
(photo of me half way up the matterhorn)
some more text
if you want a caption on the picture then do it like:
text some more text
yet more text
Otherwise I have to do all the above and it makes uploading an article take hours sometimes due to the exporting, saving, resizing and renaming photos, then uploading everything and trying to decipher what photos should go where in the document with what caption.
cheers! Mark
